Romania to Enhance Pension Services with a RON 130 Million Investment

In a significant step towards modernizing Romania's pension system, the government has announced a substantial investment of RON 130 million (approximately €26 million) from the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR).This investment will be utilized to implement a new, comprehensive IT system at the (Casa Națională de Pensii Publice, CNPP).



A New Era for Pension Services

The new IT system aims to revolutionize the pension service experience for Romania's citizens by introducing a range of enhancements, including:

  • Streamlined Processes: The digital platform will streamline pension-related procedures, reducing paperwork and simplifying applications.

  • Improved Efficiency: Automation and data integration will enhance the efficiency of pension processing, leading to faster turnaround times and reduced errors.

  • Enhanced Accessibility: Online services and user-friendly interfaces will make it easier for pensioners to access information and manage their pension accounts remotely.

  • Reduced Queues: The digital transformation is expected to significantly reduce queues and waiting times at CNPP offices, improving the overall service experience for pensioners.


Addressing Pensioners' Needs

Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu highlighted the importance of this investment in addressing the needs of Romania's pensioners: "We have good news for pensioners as well. We are introducing a new, high-performance and fully integrated IT system at the National Public Pension House. This is an investment of over RON 130 million from the PNRR and,thus, we will eliminate, for example, the queues for treatment tickets," Ciolacu stated.
