Romania Ranks Among World's Cheapest Countries for Internet

Romania's internet affordability has improved, securing it a spot among the top six globally.

A recent study by Cable.co.uk analyzed internet prices in 223 countries, revealing Romania's descent from fifth to sixth place in terms of overall affordability. Despite this slight drop, Romania remains the second most affordable country for internet in Eastern Europe.

Global Internet Affordability Landscape:

  • Sudan boasts the cheapest internet subscription globally, with an average monthly cost of just $2.40.

  • Argentina and Belarus follow closely behind, with average monthly prices of $2.80 and $3.20, respectively.

  • Romania's average monthly internet cost stands at $8.60, placing it sixth overall.

Eastern European Internet Landscape:

  • Eastern Europe demonstrates a strong presence in the internet affordability rankings, with most countries featured in the top 50.

  • Ukraine and Romania hold the top two spots in the region, showcasing their commitment to providing accessible internet services.

Factors Influencing Romania's Position:

  • While Romania's ranking has improved, the slight decline from fifth to sixth place could be attributed to various factors, including:

  • Dynamic market fluctuations in other countries

  • Changes in internet service provider pricing strategies

  • Evolving consumer demands and usage patterns

Overall, Romania's position as one of the world's most affordable countries for internet access highlights its commitment to bridging the digital divide and fostering a connected society.
