The Baccalaureate exam results for 2024 have been published by the Ministry of Education, revealing a remarkable achievement: the highest pass rate in the past 15 years. According to data available on bacalaureat.edu.ro, 76.4% of candidates passed the exam before any appeals were considered. This marks a 3.6% increase compared to last year's first session.
Out of 130,041 candidates who took the exam, 99,371 successfully passed. This includes 95,112 candidates from the current year's cohort and 4,259 from previous years. The cumulative pass rate, at 76.4%, is significantly higher than the 72.8% recorded in the first session of last year.
For current year candidates, the success rate stands at 81.5%, up from 78.4% last year. Candidates from previous years also saw improvements, with a pass rate of 31.9%, compared to 28.5% last year. Notably, 39 candidates achieved a perfect score of 10 across all written exams.

The breakdown of perfect scores by subject includes:
Romanian Language and Literature: 408
Mother Tongue Language and Literature: 21
Mandatory Subject of the Profile: 3,279 (Mathematics - 2,424 / History - 855)
Elective Subject of the Profile and Specialization: 4,866 (with Logic and
Argumentation having the highest number of perfect scores at 1,234)
Additionally, 4,373 candidates were absent, and 103 candidates were disqualified.
The Ministry of Education highlighted the substantial improvements in this year's results. For instance, the current cohort's success rate increased by over 3% compared to last year. Similarly, candidates from previous years showed a 3% improvement.
