The QS World University Rankings are out, with MIT holding the top spot for 13 years. Europe makes a strong showing,claiming 2 of the top 3 spots and placing several universities in the top 10.

The highly anticipated QS World University Rankings have arrived, revealing the top universities for the 2025 academic year. While the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) maintains its 13-year reign at the summit, Europe showcases its academic prowess with two institutions claiming the runner-up positions.

The UK leads the European pack with four universities in the top 10: Imperial College London (2nd), University of Oxford (3rd), University of Cambridge (5th), and University College London (9th). Beyond the UK, Switzerland makes a mark with ETH Zurich (7th) and École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) securing positions within the top 10.France and Germany also make notable appearances with Université PSL and the Technical University of Munich,respectively.

China has the third-highest number of ranked universities (71), with Peking University and Tsinghua University achieving impressive placements within the top 20.
