Britney Spears is "home and safe" following an alleged incident at Chateau Marmont involving a fight with her boyfriend, according to a source. Spears refuted reports on Instagram, calling the news fake and stating paramedics arrived illegally.

The source claims that Spears had a "major fight" with her boyfriend before paramedics were called to the hotel. However, Spears reportedly left the scene with her security team before paramedics arrived.

Representatives for Britney Spears have not yet responded to CNN's request for comment, and CNN has also reached out to the Chateau Marmont and first responders for further information.

Spears herself took to Instagram later on Thursday, refuting reports of the incident in a text post. She wrote "The news is fake!" and called for "respect at this time." Spears went on to claim that she had twisted her ankle the night before and that paramedics arrived at her door "illegally."

"They never came in my room but I felt completely (sic) harassed," Spears wrote. She concluded the post by stating, "I'm moving to Boston !!! Peace."
